PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES: STUFF

Image
Pastor John Collins:  Jesus says love one another, not our stuff. Things do not have value emotionally unless we give them that value~Pastor John Collins photo courtesy Google images Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries is redeeming the Gospel .   Throwing it out there like a 1-2 punch to the heart, he lays the truth in front of us here today to get it right.   Our things, the things we get attached to, the things we think we can’t live without with is simply just stuff.   Our hearts are supposed to be focused on Jesus and the walk that it takes to get to our Father in heaven, not the junk we keep in the garage, on the mantel, in the cedar chest. When we place extreme emotional value on possessions we are setting ourselves up for failure spiritually ~ Pastor John   Collins,   May 2018. Stuff is just stuff.   Hurricane Lane is heading to Hawaii as this is being written.   There will be damage to property, los...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS REVIVAL BLOG: HATE THE SIN NOT THE SINNER

Image
Pastor John Collins writes: Hate the sin and not the sinner is all well and good to do but a sinner who continues in his sin without repentance and submission to the will of God through the salvation of Christ will eventually be judged as an enemy of God. It has become easy to say that Jesus was the only perfect one and therefore there could never be any expectation for anyone else to live up to those standards although Jesus Himself said to be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect. It has also been noted that Jesus would be hanging out with the sinners and not with the righteous if He were to be here today and although that is true He definitely would not be hanging out with them to condone their sin but to heal them and to help lead them to righteousness in order to provide them with salvation. Salvation does not come packaged with an acceptance of sin. God may have mercy and love for His people but He definitely does not have an enabling heart and He does not...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS REVIVAL BLOG: THE HELPER AND THE HELPED

Pastor John Collins: slice of humble pie... We are not meant to walk through this life alone.   No man is an island (John Donne)is truth.   Learning to accept and receive help and kindness is a life-long long process. Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries and Love That Cross says “Do not let your pride deny others of their opportunity to serve God by helping you. Do not lean too heavily in either direction so that you do not become a burden nor defensive…. This is true for all aspects of our lives. We will go through situations in our lives that will bring us low and sting our pride. We will go through times of being lifted up that will challenge our egos and tempt our pride. Both sides of this coin is needed to test our faith and teach us the ways of God. We must be able to become humble. It is not worth it to hang on to your ego or to cling to your stubborn pride. Be done with it and let it go because it will never serve you well. In order to enter the k...

Pastor John Collins, Revival Blog: Failure

Image
Pastor John Collins: Biblical and human If you listen to pastors that are on the pulpit in the public eye, these men and women would have you believe that God is an all loving God who is there to simply answer prayers in return for your belief, that you don’t need to change yourself, that once you’re saved, you’re always saved.   “They don’t teach to look to the Bible for the examples that God gives” preaches Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries and Love That Cross Ministries .   The Holy Bible is full of examples of liars, cheaters, doubters, bribery, theft, and simple human failure.   We are HUMAN, and the Bible tells of HUMANS who went through the very same things we face now, only thousands of years ago.   As Solomon said in Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the sun. “There is a beauty in knowing the failures of those that have been faithful to God. You are not expected to be perfect from the start, but are meant to work t...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS REVIVAL BLOG: SOCIAL MEDIA

Image
PASTOR JOHN COLLINS: INTERNET AND CHILDREN Years after Reverend David Wilkerson preached that the Internet was a distraction and a means to separate families, that television was becoming too violent for children to watch unsupervised, Pastor John Collins , of Love That Cross Ministries and John Collins Ministries , emphasizes that social media has become a means for separating families, promoting violence and bullying, and creating secrets.   The violence in Santa Fe Texas earlier this year is a symptom of the violence that children (yes teenagers are still not adults, and therefore our children), are exposed to.   The statistics now show that there are more children killed in school shootings than soldiers in combat zones in 2018, says Pastor John Collins .   The shooting in Annapolis, Maryland had the shooter’s history involved with a Twitter account. So far in 2018, there has been 199 mass shootings in the USA. When is it enough? Pastor John Collins , ...

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REVIVAL BLOG: CHURCH DIVIDED

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, REVIVAL: SEPARATED  We look around at our country and we see division.   A teen shot in Pittsburgh by a police officer sets the community off into a spin.   A shooter in Annapolis Maryland puts us into an all too familiar routine of terrorism through victimization.   We fight against each other.   Know what?   We as people fight against each other in church and beliefs too, observes Pastor John Collins of Love That Cross and John Collins Ministries. “Throughout the last 2000 years or so there have been many separations within the body of Christ because of dissension among its members. This has led to different denominations and beliefs with different dogmas within Christianity. This is not how it should be.” Pastor John Collins, April 2018. Believing in Jesus is simple.   There is no call for separation or arguing that this group is better within another group, which is exactly what happened at the beginning of...
